7 Steps Implementation Guideline to Faith Consistent Investing (FCI)
The main objective of the 7 Steps Guideline is to help faith groups lay a sound foundation in order to become responsible investors. 3iG walks the faiths through the following 7 steps: Forming an Ethical Investment Committee, Developing a FCI Policy, Establishing Financial Expertise, Moving from Policy to Action, Engaging as Shareholders, Monitoring Impact, and Communicating.
Self Assessment: Where does my faith institution stand in terms of FCI?
This self assessment tool will allow faith institutions to determine how well their religious beliefs align with their investments.
Jewish Ethical Investment Guidelines
Initiated and supported by 3iG, these guidelines authored by Rabbi Dr. Asher Mier focus on prudence, investment criteria, liquidity, committee procedures, and socially responsible investment from a Jewish perspective.
Religious Institutions and Impact Investing Paper
Impact Investments aim to address social and environmental challenges while generating profit. Building upon the knowledge and expertise at ESADE business school in Spain, 3iG reveals impact investment practices of faith institutions, case studies of religious impact investments, and recommendations for faith institutions wanting to participate in impact investing.
Religious Institutions and Microfinance Paper
Microfinance is often seen as a high-risk investment, contributing to poverty alleviation. But is that the case, and should religious institutions get involved? Building upon the knowledge at Ashridge Business School in the UK, 3iG reveals micro-finance investment practices of faith institutions, case studies, and recommendations for faith institutions wanting to participate in micro-finance.
E-Learning for Financial Representatives of Faith Institutions
3iG would like to provide their members’ network with an e-learning tool to support the work of treasurers in small to medium sized faith institutions. The e-learning development objectives include market analysis of existing trainings and tools, needs-assessment of treasurers of faith institutions, and integration of the 7 Steps to FCI Implementation Guidelines.
Faith Consistent Investing Research
This global academic research is a partnership project between 3iG, ESADE business school and Vlerick Management School and receives support from ICCR, ECCR, Kairos/Share, Oikocredit and others. Focused group discussions, interviews, literature research and results from a global online survey will reveal investment practices of numerous diverse faith institutions across the world and provide numbers and types of assets, as well as barriers and enablers to faith consistent investing.
